MANTHAN – 2K23 (ANNUAL FEST)

Sri Balaji Shiksha Samiti Presents MANTHAN – 2k23

RULES & REGULATION

PROJECT EXHIBITION

Theme: Science and Technology

A student taking part in project exhibition events should follow certain rules regarding the event.

  1. Mini modeling is a project exhibition event where students will get an opportunity to showcase their engineering talent. The project need not be a giant model but it can be anything that should be working no matter whether big or small.
  2. Narrow down your topic so that you can state your purpose as a question. What is it that you want to find out in doing this project?
  3. Respect all living things. You should not use people or other vertebrate animals in your research (it is okay to use plants, non-harmful fungi, safe bacteria, and insects).
  4. Be safe at all times. Have your supervising adult approve your procedures. Never eat or drink while you are performing experiments. Do not taste, touch or inhale chemicals or chemical solutions or any plants that you are not positive about are safe. Ask if you are unsure. Wash your hands thoroughly after doing any kind of experiment that uses chemicals. Dispose of waste products in a safe way. Strong chemicals should not go down drains and sharp objects or glass should not be put in the trash.
  5. Do not copy anyone else’s work. This means that you should not look up and/or download projects from the Internet or copy them from books or magazines. It is okay to get help from a parent or a teacher if you need to brainstorm ideas or get help in looking up background material, but the actual work on the project must be your own. This is a competition for students. The work submitted must be, insofar as possible, the exclusive work of the student. This is not a competition for parents or other older assistance providers. It is acknowledged that, as discussed above, a small amount of outside assistance will be necessary, but assistance beyond the assurance of safety should be avoided. By submitting an entry, both the student and the parent or legal guardian represent and promise that the project complies with this rule.
  6. Research your problem. List any websites, books, or people you talk to as you get information about your topic. It is a good idea to keep a running notebook so that when you are putting your final project together for display you will have all that information at your fingertips.
  7. Make sure all your data is real—do not make something up or change data because you don’t think your results make sense. Do your experiment again and think about why things are different from your expectations.
  8. Each team can have a maximum of 4 members.
  9. Members should have a valid student ID card from their school.
  10. A team member can participate in only one project presentation.
  11. The chart should contain just a simple description of their project. The candidates can get help with the following points to describe their project in the chart.

Points: –

  • Working diagram/image of model, which can be hand drawn or printed.
  •  Introduction
  • Block diagram
  • Working principle.
  • Its advantages and disadvantages and future scope.

12. Your project will probably not have access to electricity or running water when it is displayed. Make sure that you are aware of that when getting ready for the final entry. The basic requirement i.e. electric power supply of 230V AC will be made available to participants. Mention additional requirements if any.
