Offering information, advice, guidance and support for job-seeking students is considered a primary responsibility at the college. The Placement and Training Office is provided with a well-equipped conference room and separate, well-furnished rooms for interviews and counselling.
Objective of the office:
- To organize campus interviews for final year students with industries and business houses of repute from all over India.
- Improving the employability skills through special personality development sessions thereby reducing the gap between industries & academicians. With the dedicated team of result-oriented members, the office establishes larger network with the industries.
- To prepare students to face campus interviews by arranging training in Aptitude tests, group discussions, preparing for Technical and HR interviews through Professional Trainers and Experts.
- To promote career counselling by organizing guidance lectures by senior corporate personnel and SBCET Alumni.
- The office liaisons with the prime industries and invites them for conducting on-campus & off-campus drives for selection of the students. The office also takes feedback from the employers, so as to prepare the student to meet the expectations of the industries.
It also conducts a number of training programs in the area of domain skills & soft skills by inviting eminent speakers from the industries.
Dr. Pankaj Meel,
Head, Training and Placement Officer.
He has done M.Phil. and has earned a Ph.D. from University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. He is UGC-CBSE NET qualified. He has worked with many Universities of repute. He has completely and successfully supervised an International Ph.D. Scholar. He possesses 14 years of teaching, research and counselling experience and has worked as Research & Development Coordinator as well. Additionally, he has designed many pre-placement modules for University students. He was associated with Reliance Industries Limited, New Delhi before coming to academics. He has organized Conferences, Seminars, Workshops and FDPs with the capacity of Convener and Co-Convener and participated therein also. He has presented 40 research papers and has published 27 research papers in Journals of National and International Repute including publication in Scopus Indexed Journals & ABDC. He has published 5 books on different themes and has written many book chapters. He has taken 5 Invited talks through Webinars and Coaching Sessions.
He severed in Board of Faculty members and Board of Studies. He got associated with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India and has appointed as a Coordinator for National Testing Agency. He is serving as a member for Internal Quality Assurance Cell. He also worked as a member for UGC Quality Mandate. He also got privilege to earn an Official Letter of Membership for the International Association of Engineers for SBCET. He is associated with many education platforms as a Subject Matter Expert (AICTE Approved Online Assessment Partner). He has chaired International Conference Sessions. He is with numerous International Journals as Advisory Review Board Member/Editorial Member. He is as a Review Board Member with 4 Journals International Journals. Last, but not the least, he possesses Lifetime Membership/ Associate Membership with many National and International Professional Associations.
