Guest Lecture (RWADC)

Due to no maintenance of this project following damages have been

occurred in the last many years and needs repair/ renovation-

(a) Dam & Waste Weir

(i) Pitching is damaged and settled in many reaches of the left side

flank.

(ii) Earthwork is damaged and heavy rain cuts formed in many

reaches.

(b) Canals & Canal system

(i) There exist two main canals namely LMC & RMC. No repair works

on these canals were carried out for a long time due to a paucity of

funds. Through these canals, the land of 34 villages is getting the

benefit of irrigation.

(ii)The left main canal has a length of 6.90 km. with a

discharge at head 1.597 cumecs. Similarly, the right main canal

has a length of 20.7 km. with a discharge at head 5.513 cumecs.

During the rainy season lot of Malwa is deposited in the bed of the canal

and these canals are at present in a damaged condition and

require repairs/renovation.

Objectives of the Project

1. To increase Irrigation Intensity through the canal.

2. To prevention of losses due to unlined canals.

3. To Minimization of chances of piping through the dam.

4. To Provide Strengthen to the dam and waste weir.

5. To provide easy accessibility to the farmers to go to their farms
